Both the Potluck Party in November and the Christmas Party in December were great! The food was varied and delicious and the people were great too! Thanks to everyone who came!! There will be more veggie get-togethers in the near future.

11月の持ち寄りパーティーも先月のクリスマスパーティーもよかったですよ！いろいろな美味しい料理があって来てくれた人もいい人でした！皆さん、来てくれてありがとうございます！また、近いうちにベジパーティーをやりましょうね！

Hello everyone!

The Christmas season is coming up soon and you know how much I love Christmas! Sooo, I’m organizing a Christmas Party together with “Green Earth” a vegetarian restaurant in Osaka!

When?: Saturday, December 18, 2010 7:00pm-9:30pm
How much?: 2000 yen
Where?: ‘Green Earth’ (about a 3 minute walk from exit 15 of Honmachi subway station)

There will be a great buffet dinner and I will be playing some songs, including some Christmas songs as well. There will be some other Christmas-related stuff and it should be a lot of fun!

Veggie Potluck Party in Kyoto!

Where: Kyoto Imperial Park (Hopefully we can enjoy the autumn leaves there!)
(We’ll meet up at Keihan Demachiyanagi station first, then go.)
Who: Anybody is welcome!

This is a potluck party, so please bring a little something of your own (something vegetarian – vegan, if possible) and then we’ll all share.
Let’s try to keep the garbage to a minimum by bringing your own utensils and dishes/containers!

久しぶり！It’s been a while!

久しぶりやね！

最近、結構ベジレスに行ったりちゃんと料理したりしてるよ！
初めて作ったやつが多いし！
下のは全部初めての料理でございます。

１。南瓜煮

作るまでずっと怖かった。だし、自分で作った事なかったから、不安で一回も試してなかった。それはSADすぎるよな！だから、だしを使わずに日本料理出来ないやん！と思って頑張って作ってみた。
まずは、30分ぐらい乾燥しいたけを水でつける。で、火を通してもう30分ぐらいそのまま置いとく。で、終わり！簡単やろう？

南瓜煮も簡単やで！
南瓜カットして鍋に入れてだしでつけて少々醤油（しょうしょうしょうゆ！）と　みりんを入れて弱火で好きな柔らかさになるまで煮る。火を止めてから何分か置いとくね。味がすごくなるぞ！すごくなったら、完成！

僕は少しシナモンかけた。カナダ風。

２。餃子
ベジ餃子はeasyやで。にらやおから、しょうが、にんにく、豆腐、しいたけ、白菜など、何を入れても作れるから。作ってみてね！

３。オムライス
材料は　木綿豆腐　長芋　ターメリック　塩こしょう　オリーブオイル　です。玄米ご飯に。

４。お弁当
入ってるもんは　a.大根としいたけと南瓜煮　b.黒豆とチェリートマト c.ベジディップ（味噌、練り胡麻、くるみ、しょうが、白リークを混ぜただけで美味しい） d.パプリカ、人参、キュウリ

お弁当は自分のためじゃなかったから、あなたも誰かに作ってあげてね！

岐阜アースマーケット / Gifu Earth Market

Gifu Earth Market was essentially a vegetarian (vegan) flea market/mini-festival. There was lots of good food and other things there. Here are some pictures.

French Kiss Toast (japan version)

Here’s a French Toast recipe! Named by my dear friend as “French Kiss Toast”. Wow-wow.

French Toastのレシピです！僕にこのレシピを教えてくれた友達は、フレンチキストーストと呼んでいる。Wow-wow!!

I made this last month, but the taste still lingers in my memory….haha.
先月これを作ったけど、今でもまだあの味が思い出せる！

ingredients
- one cup vanilla soy milk
- 1/4 cup corn starch
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (or chickpea flour if attainable)
- tbsp cinnamon
- oil for frying
- loaf of bread
- maple syrup and/or jam (or icing sugar if you so wish)

材料
-1カップ　バニラ豆乳
-1/4カップ　コーンスターチ
-1/2カップ　小麦全粒粉
-小さじ　シナモン　
-油
-パン
-メープルシロップやジャムなど

directions
1) add the corn starch, flour, and spices to the bowl of milk; stir immediately as the corn starch will clump
2) dip thick slices of bread (one at a time!) in the mix and place them on an oiled frying pan at medium heat, flip when golden brown
3) voila. eat with maple syrup, jam, and/or fresh fruit…

It was really tasty – vegan and it tasted like the regular non-vegan version, but without that huge egg-y taste. So, that works out well, in my opinion.

作り方
１）ボールに豆乳、コーンスターチ、小麦粉、シナモンを入れる。コーンスターチが固まるのですぐに混ぜる。
２）パンを一枚ずつミックスに漬けて油を引いたフライパンの上で中火でこんがりと焼く。
３）フルーツやジャム、シロップなど漬けて美味しく召し上がりいただけます。

美味しかったよ！ビーガンで普通のフレンチトーストみたい。。。卵味なし！僕にとってはこっちのほうが美味しい。

これが僕流フレンチトースト。

Kyle’s Easy-Peasy Recipe: Tofu Scramble

皆さん、おはようございます!
Hey, guys!

今は桜の時期なのに、昨日は雪が凄かった。でも、今日は良い天気だからそれを祝ってこのレシピを紹介したいと思います！今日作ったの。
After the bizarre snow of last night, today looks to be nice out. In celebration of that, here’s a breakfast recipe (I made this this morning!) which I hope you’ll enjoy.

豆腐スクランバルはスクランバルエッグみたいけど、それより百パービーガン。作り方はたくさんあるけど、これは僕の基本な作り方。
Tofu scramble is basically like scrambled eggs, but 100% more vegan!! There are many ways to do this food, but here’s my basic method.

材料
木綿豆腐
オリーブオイル
ターメリック
醤油
塩／塩こしょう
クミン (使わんくてもいい)
ほうれん草

何でも入れていいよ！

Ingredients
Firm Tofu
Olive Oil
Turmeric
Soy sauce
Salt
Cumin (optional)
Spinach

Feel free to add whatever you want, man.

油をひき熱したフライパンに、手で小さくちぎった豆腐を入れる。
それらを炒めている間にターメリック(スプーン１杯)、醤油少々、塩、そしてクミンを加える。
全体が少し茶色くなってきたら、ホウレンソウ（体に良い）を加えてできあがり。
To begin, take your tofu and after breaking it into smaller chunks, throw it into a heated, lightly-oiled frying pan. Fry it up nice and in the meantime add some turmeric (1 tsp?), a tiny bit of soy sauce, some salt and cumin (again, small amounts). Near the end, when it’s getting a bit brown or however you like it, add some spinach. It does the body good.

Then, voila….

今日のはあまりスクランブルエッグに似てなかったけど、全然構わない。いつもセイタンベーコンやホームフライと一緒に食べるけど、今日は抹茶豆乳とブルーベリーと一緒に食べた。ブルーベリーとっても美味しかったけど、そのレシピがなくてごめんね。
Mine didn’t end up looking so much like eggs as is possible, but I have no problem with that.
I commonly have Scrambled Tofu with seitan bacon and/or home fries, but today I had it with Matcha soy milk and blueberries! The blueberries were delicious, but I don’t have the recipe.

材料全部適量使ってるからそんなに気にしないでください。
ビーガン料理をエンジョイしてください！

The amounts of ingredients used is quite random, I use the eyeball method and I encourage you to do so as well. Just have good, clean, vegan cooking fun!
